Information for Team Managers

Field Setup & Pack‑Down

1. Purpose

Ensure all fields are consistently set up and packed down with correct equipment: Goals, Pegs, Flags, Agility Poles, and optional Marquee / Gazebo.
All sheds and change rooms must be secured at the end of use.

2. General Rules

🔹 Goals

• Install goals appropriate to each field size.
• Ensure they are stable and safe before play.

🔹 Pegs

• Pegs must be used to secure full size and 5 metre goals to the ground.
• Minimum 2 pegs per goal unless otherwise required.

🔹 Flags

• Place flags at all four corners of fields that require them.

🔹 Agility Poles

• Used for fields 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 3a, 3b, 3c where flags are not required.

🔹 Equipment Shed

• Open only when accessing equipment.
• Must be closed and locked after setup and again after pack‑down.

🔹 Change Rooms (Fields 1 & 2 only)

• Open at the start of the day.
• Ensure they are locked at the end.

Setup

Pack‑Down

• Remove flags and return to Cash House hallway
• Remove pegs and return to Referee room
• Move goals to fence line
• Lock Change Rooms
• Lock Equipment Shed

Field 3

Setup

• Install Goals
• Secure with Pegs
• Place Flags

Pack‑Down

• Remove flags and return to Cash House hallway

• Remove pegs and return to Referee room

• Move goals to edge of field area
• Lock Equipment Shed

Field 4

Setup

• Install Goals
• Secure with Pegs
• Place Flags
• Set up Marquee / Gazebo (Optional)
• Access equipment from shed as needed

Pack‑Down

• Remove flags and return to Cash House hallway

• Remove pegs and return to Referee room

• Take down marquee / gazebo (if used)
• Move goals to edge of field area
• Lock Equipment Shed

Field 3a, 3b, 3c

Setup

• Install Goals
• Install Agility Poles

Pack‑Down

• Remove and store agility poles

• Move goals to edge of field area

Field 1a & Field 2a

Setup

• Install Goals
• Secure with Pegs
• Place Flags

Pack‑Down

• Remove flags and return to Cash House hallway

Field 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e

4. End‑of‑Day Final Checklist

• All Goals removed or secured as required
• All Pegs collected
• All Flags collected
• All Agility Poles collected
• Equipment Shed locked
• Change Rooms locked (Fields 1 & 2 only)
• Marquee / gazebo packed away (if used)

Early and accurate communication is critical for all teams. Our members lead busy lives and often have to fit football in amongst many other commitments. Therefore, any changes to training or games times/locations need to be communicated to the team as soon as possible.

All Team Managers get access to the Dugout in Majestri, which has all the players in your team listed and their relevant contact details. Managers can send an email to the whole group, or selected players/parents.

In 2026 the club is supplying every registered player with a playing jersey. These are for the players to keep. 

Players need to purchase their own club blue socks and club black shorts.

They need to supply their own football boots and shin pads (mandatory for training and games). 

Rangers training jerseys are optional and are available from the club shop.

It is a strict requirement that all staff and volunteers at SRFC have a current Blue Card.

If you have a current Blue Card, please send the details to the General Manager at gm@samfordrangers.org.au

If you do not have a current Blue Card, you can apply for one here. If you have any issues with applying for your Blue Card, please contact the General Manager for help.

Each manager should do a quick assessment of the field and surrounds prior to the commencement of the game. This is to ensure that all goals, playing surfaces and surrounds are safe to be used.  Any safety concerns should be reported, addressed and fixed before the game commences.

It is the responsibility of each Team Manager of the home club to provide at least one ground official, per field, who must be in clearly identifiable uniform and must identify themselves to the appointed match official at least 15 minutes prior to the match. Ground officials are to be visible at all times and must be designated to provide an escort to all match officials before kick-off, at half time and full time.  A ground official cannot be the coach or manager whose game is in progress.

Before the Match

Coaches and Managers of Miniroos Under 6 to Under 12 teams must ensure that all players receive equal playing time for each and every game. The only exception is where a player is injured or does not want to play.

Coaches and Managers of Metro Community Under 13 to Under 18 community teams must ensure that all players receive equal playing time over the entire season. These age groups differ from the younger players because in some games a player may be required to play more or less time than others. This will be adjusted in other games where they play more or less to make up a similar amount of time over the season.

The only exception is where a player:

Miniroos (Under 6 to Under 12) do not keep score and no results need to be recorded.

Scores for Junior and senior games will be entered into Squadi by the referee.  

If there is a club referee appointed to your game he will provide the result to the General Manager who will enter the results.
