Children born on or after 1-Jan-2018 can play in the Miniroos Kick Off program that runs over 2 terms.

Miniroos (Under 6 – Under 12)

All Under 6 to Under 12 players are called ‘Miniroos’. Games are played on a small sized pitch with less players per team than standard 11-aside football teams (i.e. 4v4, 7v7, 9v9) and modified rules to promote inclusiveness, engagement and technical ability. Games in this competition are typically played on Saturday mornings, either within a local hub or through Football Queensland coordinated matches.

U6 and U7 age groups play against other Samford teams and also teams from the local area; Dayboro, Pine Hills and Westside Grovely. Under 8-12’s play against teams from a wider catchment depending on the playing category (FQ Academy, Kangaroo, Wallaby, Quakka). There are no competitive tables or points scoring for any Miniroos teams – participation, development and enjoyment are the key goals. Grading of players does occur from Under 8 age range and above, which happens at the start of the season. The club endeavours to place players in the teams that best reflect their development stage and skill level.

U6 - U7 train on Wednesday evenings at Parklands.

U8 - U12 train on Monday evenings at Parklands. Some teams will also train on Wednesday evenings.

Miniroos Registration fee includes a Samford Rangers playing shirt and socks for games, FFA/FQ governing body fees, insurance, training sessions, all game fees throughout the regular season, team photo, end of season trophy and presentation day.
