Just a quick follow-up to my email of last weekend regarding updates to the status of the football season.
I understand many of you are fielding questions from your members regarding whether clubs will be able to resume training when some restrictions are relaxed at midnight tonight. Just to reiterate the message that I provided last Saturday in that the current status remains that all football activities continue to be suspended.
Football Queensland is in discussions with the State Department of Sport and Recreation. Two meetings have taken place this week between State Sporting Organisations and the Department to clarify the finer details regarding the restart of community sport but we are yet to be formally advised by Football Queensland of any change to the current status of the football season. Until such time as we receive further directives from Football Queensland, all Football Brisbane football related activities remain suspended.
In next week’s Club Workshop sessions, we hope to be in a position to outline the guidelines and timeframes regarding a return to football and as always, I thank all of you for your ongoing cooperation and patience as we work through this period.
