Community Clubs like Samford Rangers FC can only exist thanks to an army of volunteers that turn out week after week to help coach players, manage teams, and generally help out in a hundred other ways. As the lifeblood of our Club, we want you to be engaged in helping to frame the Club’s future and to let us know where we can try to make improvements.
Per the announcement in the Club Newsletter a few weeks ago, the Committee is currently drafting a 3-Year Strategic Plan which will cover 6 pillars of the Club:
- Financial Management
- Facilities & Assets
- Coaching, Player and Referee Development
- Club Administration
The aim of this process is to ensure each year the Club is taking incremental steps in all of the Pillars to make improvements for the benefit of all members and players.
As the folks at the pointy end of all of this, as you are directly engaging with the membership each week at training, games and events, we want you to be part of the planning process. We want your feedback, suggestions, ideas and ideally your commitment to help us execute on the Plan!
To this end, we are hosting a Volunteers Evening on Sat 17th August between 6.30pm and 8.30pm at the Samford Parklands Clubhouse. The Committee will deliver a short summary and presentation of the high levels ideas we have developed so far across all the Pillars, to help frame the discussion. However, the major focus of the evening will be on the Coaching and Player Development components of the Plan as this is the most relevant for most of you, and probably the area that needs the most investment and effort. Bryan Clasby, SRFC‘s VP of Football Operations, has spent a lot of time thinking about the best structures to put in place and where we need to invest, and we will share this with you on the night. Your feedback will be noted and appreciated.
The Club will lay on some nibbles and a couple of drinks (alcoholic or soft drinks) for each attendee. To assist with planning for the food and drinks, it would be helpful if could register your interest in attending this forum. We hope this will be an important investment of time for all of us.
