Both Garry and Arno have been long-serving contributors to the development & growth of our Football Club over the last 15 years, between them having coached all Junior age groups as well as both Senior Mens and Womens teams.
Returning in 2013, after two years away, Garry and Arno worked hard on the club's strategies to turn around the decline in players that we had seen, particularly in the Junior competitive teams. Over the last 3 years, we have seen our numbers grow by 27% to nearly 600 players as we have focused on achieving the club's goal of fielding 2 teams in each junior age group so that we can bridge the gap and provide a pathway from junior to youth and senior football as well as recently fielding teams in under 15’s girls and boys and under 18’s. We have also put strategies in place around coaching designed to develop the skills of our local Samford players through the junior years so that they will compete at a high level within the Football Brisbane senior competitions.
Garry and Arno have demonstrated a real commitment to our Football Club providing guidance and knowledge to our volunteers and coaches and directly to many of our young footballers through running our popular School Holiday Clinics and Summer Development Program. They were also key figures in the introduction of our successful Samford Rangers Pre-Season Challenge Cup Competition for our Senior Teams.
Their efforts have helped to bring growth and stability to both the junior and senior football programs building a solid foundation for the future success of all areas of the Club.
Following lengthy deliberation the Management Committee have decided to move in another direction and would like to thank Garry and Arno for helping to improve our Club, they now leave us well placed for the future challenges ahead.
