Call To Arms is Cancer Council’s annual national event to raise funds and awareness of cancer in men. Every day 171 men in Australia are diagnosed with cancer. The reality is, it could be your father, your brother, your husband, your son or your best mate.
Samford Rangers have accepted an invitation to participate by nominating the 25th of July to hold a Call To Arms Day at Harold Brown Park that will culminate with our senior and youth team players wearing a yellow armband in a show of support to men who have survived cancer, those currently facing the cancer fight and to remember mates who have lost their lives to cancer.
In keeping with the theme we will run fundraising activities on the day to collect donations for the Cancer Council. All funds raised through Call To Arms go towards helping to prevent cancers in men, finding new treatments and funding support programs for men in need.
We’re urging all members and friends of the club to get behind this event by either donating on the day at the canteen at Harold Brown Park or online through a secure website provided by the cancer council. To make an online donation click here.
An information booklet is available from here. Thank-you for your support.

Our boys were well-coached by Ray Campbell who knew all the techniques from his army days but alas it was not to be with the Rangers going down 1-2 in a tight contest! Check-out the photos.

We are pleased to announce the completion of a 4 month strategic planning exercise by the club's Management Committee. The Samford Rangers FC Strategic Plan is a 5 year blueprint to achieving the clubs vision of promoting, and providing safe facilities for the sport of football; and to encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, fitness and the development of individual skills.
The plan's existence will ensure that your committee works together to take the club in the same direction, achieving desired outcomes quicker and more cost effectively.
A key input into this plan was the feedback received from you the members in the survey circulated at the start of the year. One in six (1 in 6) club members responded to the survey which is an excellent result for any organisation. Your requirements, spelt out in the survey responses have been collated and are being addressed by the clubs Strategic Action Plan for the development and implementation of services, programs and facilities at Samford Rangers Football Club.
You voted overwhelmingly to keep the club's family friendly atmosphere ensuring that social factors, friendships and people remain at the for front of any club development activities. A clear message has been received that although you are generally happy with the administration and running of the club and the delivery of programs and services offered at the club, a majority of you are not satisfied with club facilities, particularly clubhouse, spectator seating, car parking, shade and fields.
As a result of your feedback, the club has already began to address some of these concerns, particularly
Plans are already in place for 2010 to
Thank you again for your support and the great participation in helping the club achieve its first strategic plan. Please read the plan and if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us. Your plan will be reviewed quarterly to ensure we remain on track for the desired club outcomes so continue feedback is critical to our success.
