Over 35's Go Down Fighting

The very last Samford Rangers game for 2006 was played this afternoon with the Men's Over 35's Div 3 Grand Final against Redlands. Despite dominating the entire second half, our boys were unable to overcome a 0-2 halftime and eventual full-time score line. Well done to the Girls U/12 Div 3's who yesterday beat Premiers, Ipswich City 1-0 in yesterday's Grand Final to be crowned Champions! Congratulations to all of the players and parents, Nick Vanderzwan (Coach), Nick Politylo (Manager) and Assistant Coaches Greg Jones & Paul Stent for a great season.Girls Under 13 Div 2 - Just Missed!

Commiserations to our Girls U/13 Div 2's who made it all the way to yesterday's Grand Final but just couldn't quite get things started and went down 0-2 to a determined Ipswich Knights team. Despite the loss the girls had a terrific season and congratulations to all of the players and parents, Greg Petroff (Coach) and Brett Johnson (Manager) for such a great effort this year.Three Samford teams in Grand Finals this week-end!

The 2006 season concludes this week-end with our three remaining teams competing in their Grand Finals. Grand Finals are always very special occasions, especially when there are plenty of supporters willing the players on, so come-on out and support our teams Samford!On Saturday morning at Carmichael Park, Tingalpa, our Girls U12 Div 3's take-on Ipswich City at 8:15am followed by our Girls U13 Div 2's at 10am against Ipswich Knights. On Sunday at 3pm, our Men's Over 35's take-on Redlands at Luxury Paints Stadium, Richlands.

The Rooball Trophy Day includes the traditional Trophy Presentation and the Rooball Fun Day which is a round-robin style carnival where teams within each age-group play each other in a number of shortened games. Game schedules for U/6, U/7, U/8, U/9, U/10 and a general information sheet are now available.To promote teams of equal playing strength, the U/9/10 players will be reassigned to newly formed U/9/10 teams named after clubs from the Hyundai A-League (i.e. Qld Roar, Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, etc.).
