Team Announcement Day

Thank-you to all of you who attended yesterday's Team Announcement Day. For those of you who were unable to attend, please contact the relevant person at the foot of this email to find-out which team you are in.

Coaches & Managers Meetings Visit www.samfordfootball.org.au

The Coaches and Managers Meeting will be held tomorrow night (Monday the 23rd) at 6:30pm-8pm at the Clubhouse for under 6 to 10 teams and 7:30pm-9pm for under 11-16 teams. As well as being briefed on this season's procedures, you can pick-up your team kits. You will also be required to complete a Team Officials Registration form.

Please note that coaches and managers MUST have a current Blue Card. If you do not have one then an application form must be completed at the meeting. You can download the form from the Coaches and Managers page on our web site as well as find a host of other information including rules, template roster, etc.

Training

Training times for all teams are available on our web site (click here).

Pre-Season Friendlies (Under 9-16)

A series of pre-season games have been scheduled for most junior (under 9+) teams on one or more of Sunday the 8th, 15th and 22nd of March against neighbouring clubs, Pine Hills, Albany Creek, Westside, Dayboro and Mitchelton. Exact game times will be published as soon as possible.

Junior Registrations

For those who have yet to register, we urge you to attend the last night of February Sign-On this Tuesday, 5:30pm - 6:30pm to avoid missing-out as team quotas fill quickly and we must nominate teams very shortly.

Senior Men/Women Registrations must be finalised by Thursday

The Senior Men's teams (including under 18 but excluding Over 35's) and Open Women teams commence fixtures on Saturday week (7/8 March) and it is important that all players have registered and paid fees in full by this Thursday to be eligible to play.

Urgent call for new Vice-President, Juniors

We are still on the look-out for a Vice-President, Juniors effective immediately. THIS LEAVES THE CLUB IN A VERY VULNERABLE POSITION if we cannot find one quickly. The committee is urgently calling on any member who would like to take on the role of VP, Juniors to make contact ASAP. The current committee members cannot carry the workload of this role and as such, should no one come forward the administrative support of the U11 to U16 teams will not be as we are used to and expect.

Time commitments for the position from now to March are approximately 10-12 hours per week (1-2 hours per day), reducing to 4-5 hours per week for the rest of the year. A majority of communication with members for this position is via email and phone rather than physical attendance at the clubhouse.

Specifically the role coordinates the efficient administration (financially and socially) of the junior club, supporting their teams’ on-field efforts, including:

  • Late Player Registrations;
  • Team Announcement Day;
  • Coaches & Managers Night (at beginning and end of the season);
  • Trophy Day ⁄ Presentation Night; and
  • Encouraging members, parents, and leaders to express ⁄ share ideas and feel an important part of the Club.

So if you have a passion to grow the club, to make a difference, to give something back to the community and a willingness to have fun please contact Graham Lee (contact details below).
